Privacy Policy

The short version: if you join the waitlist we store your email address, which form you used, which language you were reading, and whether you asked about the book. We do not ask for your name, your address, your immigration status, or any document. We do not sell anything to anybody.

Who we are

CivicsGuide is operated by First Bravo LLC, doing business as ConfirmDev. You can reach us about anything on this page at [email protected].

What we collect

When you join the waitlist

Submitting any of the email forms on this site stores a single row containing:

• Your email address. So we can tell you when CivicsGuide launches.
• Which form you used (hero, final_cta, book_section, or the coming soon dialog). So we know which part of the page actually persuades people.
• Which language you were reading. So the launch email arrives in that language rather than in English.
• Whether you asked about the book as well as the app.
• The time you signed up.

That is the entire record. We do not store your IP address with your signup, we do not attach a browsing history to it, and we do not run it against any enrichment or data-broker service to find out who you are.

The forms include a hidden field that people never see and automated bots usually fill in. If it comes back filled, the submission is discarded. It exists to catch spam, and it collects nothing about you.

When you simply read the site

If analytics is switched on, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which sections people read. This is measurement of pages, not of individuals: we never send your email address or any other identifier you have given us to Google. What GA4 receives is described in full on our Cookie and Tracking Notice.

Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs for security and abuse prevention, in line with its own retention policy. Those logs are a normal part of running any website and are not linked to your waitlist row.

What we do not collect

We want to be specific, because this is a site used by people applying for immigration benefits and vagueness is not reassuring:

• No immigration status, A-number, case number, or USCIS receipt number.
• No date of birth, country of origin, or ethnicity.
• No payment details. Nothing on this site takes money.
• No account. There is nothing to log in to.
• No uploads, no documents, no photographs.

The app’s Officials feature teaches you the right answers to the four questions that depend on where you live. To do that it asks you to type in your address and sends it to the U.S. Census Bureau’s public address service, which returns your state and congressional district. The app never reads your device’s location. None of this is part of this website, and none of it reaches us: we never see the address, and the district the app works out stays on your phone.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our lawful basis for holding your email address is consent: you typed it into a box that said we would email you at launch. You can take that consent back at any time, and doing so deletes the record rather than just quieting it.

Who else sees it

• Cloudflare hosts the site and the D1 database the signup is written to.
• Resend sends the launch email. Your email address is added to a Resend audience so the message can actually be delivered.

Both are processors acting on our instructions. Nobody else receives your email address. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share it for anyone else’s marketing, and we will not start.

We would only hand over data if we were legally compelled to. Given what is stored, that amounts to an email address and a timestamp.

How long we keep it

Until launch, plus a reasonable window afterwards to send the one email we promised. After that, or as soon as you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, whichever comes first, the row is removed.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe. Every email has a working one-click unsubscribe link.
• Deletion. Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with and we will delete the row and confirm it.
• A copy of what we hold. Ask, and we will send it. It will be short.
• Correction. Tell us the right address and we will change it.

We answer these within 30 days, and usually much sooner. You do not need to give a reason, and asking will never affect anything else.

If you are in the EU, the UK, or a US state with its own privacy law, you have these rights by statute and can complain to your data protection authority if we handle a request badly. Please try us first.

Children

CivicsGuide is built for adults preparing for a naturalization interview. We do not knowingly collect anything from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us an email address, tell us and we will delete it.

International transfers

We operate from the United States, and the services above process data in the United States and other countries. If you are writing from outside the US, your email address will be handled there.

Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top of the page. If a change is significant and you are on the waitlist, we will say so in an email rather than quietly editing this page.

Not a government service

CivicsGuide is an independent study aid. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by USCIS, the Department of Homeland Security, or any other US government agency, and we never receive or handle anything to do with your actual application. See the Terms of Service.
