These terms cover your use of the website at civicsguide.com. By using the site or joining the waitlist, you agree to them. They are written to be read, not to be survived.

What CivicsGuide is, and is not

CivicsGuide is an independent study aid for the United States naturalization civics test, operated by ConfirmDev.

We are not USCIS. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Department of Homeland Security, or any other government agency. We cannot file anything for you, check the status of your case, schedule or reschedule your interview, or speak to an officer on your behalf. If a page on this site ever gives you the impression otherwise, that page is wrong and we want to hear about it.

We are not your lawyer. Nothing here is legal advice. Naturalization eligibility, the N-400, disability exceptions, and the 65/20 exemption all turn on facts about you that a study app cannot see. For advice about your own case, talk to a licensed immigration attorney or a DOJ-accredited representative.

We cannot promise you will pass. We can give you all 128 official questions and a good way to practice them. The interview is conducted by a USCIS officer and the outcome is theirs, not ours.

The official source always wins

We take the civics questions and the reading and writing vocabulary from the official USCIS materials and we work to keep them current. Even so, the government can change the test, the questions, or the answers at any time, and some answers (your senators, the Speaker of the House) change with elections.

If anything on this site disagrees with uscis.gov, uscis.gov is right and we are wrong. Always confirm the current test requirements with USCIS before your interview.

The waitlist

Joining the waitlist means we will email you when CivicsGuide launches. It is not a purchase, a reservation, a queue position, or a promise that the app will ship on any particular date, or at all. There is no charge, and you can leave at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us. What we store is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Using the site

Please do not:

• scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the site beyond normal reading,
• submit other people’s email addresses to the waitlist,
• try to break, overload, or probe the site or its API,
• copy the site’s content and pass it off as your own.

The official USCIS questions themselves are US government work and are not ours to restrict. Everything else on this site, meaning the writing, the design, the code, the guides, and the CivicsGuide name and logo, belongs to ConfirmDev. You are welcome to read it, share links to it, and quote a reasonable amount of it with attribution.

Links to other sites

We link out to USCIS and other resources because they are useful. We do not control them and we are not responsible for what they say or do.

The site is provided as it is

We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ConfirmDev is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site, and our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us, which for this website is zero.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions. Where that is the case, they do not apply to you and you keep whatever rights your local law gives you.

Changes and endings

We may change these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and continued use of the site means you accept the new version. We may also change or withdraw the site itself.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Nothing here takes away a consumer protection you have under the law where you live.
